The Benefits of having Two First Year Librarians
At the University of Notre Dame, we are well into the Spring Semester. A number of faculty have already scheduled a Library Instruction Session with Elizabeth and I. My Schedule is beginning to pick up with Research Consultation appointments with First Year Students. It is very gratifying to know that students and faculty alike experience the value of Information Literacy not only in their academic lives, but also in their personal lives.
The following are links to information re: Information Literacy that many of you will find useful in understanding of Librarians within the academy:

Happy New Year to some Wonderful Surprises!
Greetings First Year Students!
The new year brings wonderful surprises by way of the Hesburgh Libraries.
The Hesburgh Libraries is pleased to present an additional First Year Librarian. Her name is Elizabeth Van Jacob and she can be contacted via email at: mvanjaco@nd.edu.
The two of us will be working together to teach the Information Literacy instruction sessions, meeting with First Year Students for one to one Research Consultations and creating opportunities for Intellectual Engagement.
Stay Tuned!

As the Semester is coming to an end.....
MY GRATITUDE FOR A SUCCESSFUL FALL SEMESTER ~ 2010!
I want to thank all of the First Year students for scheduling appointments to meet with me and or any of my Librarian colleagues. It has been a pleasure to have had you in classes as well as meet with you for a Research Consultation in Coleman-Morse or in the Hesburgh Libraries. As I have stated many times, the Librarians within the Hesburgh Libraries are here to assist you with your Information and Research needs.
WHAT'S NEW FOR SPRING TERM, 2011!
The Hesburgh Libraries will be launching a new Web-Site in January-2011.
I would encourage you to try it out before the next term begins:
